BLSA Preamble to the Chapter's Constitution

The Florida Coastal Chapter of the National Black Law Students Association recognizes the need of involvement of Black law students in Florida Coastal School of Law. The purpose of this Association is to address issues related to the Black legal community; promote a sense of security academically, socially and professionally; foster a conscious awareness of diversity at this legal institution; and provide a network to ensure the needs of Florida Coastal’s Black students are met.

Fall Plenary


Who: Black Law Students Association
What: Plenary meeting to vote on revisions to our chapter's Constitution
By Laws, and Election Code
Where: Room 455
When: Saturday August 29, 2009, 1:00 PM-4:00 PM
Why: To ensure that our regional Constitution and By Laws are aligned with that of Nationals (NBLSA)
For the purpose of Plenary, only "active members" from the 2008-2009 school year may participate.

Thursday, August 27th, 2009 in FCSL classroom 425, from 12pm-1pm.

The BLSA Library has a new Location! ...And Other News.



Hello BLSA FAMILY!! Please read the post below for important news.

The BLSA Library has successfully moved to its new location!!

The library is now located in Room 165, across from the student lounge and next to the admissions office.



The library will be open tomorrow, August 12th from 10:00 am -12:00 pm and 3:00 pm-6:00 pm.
You may drop off previously borrowed books if you haven't already, and borrow books for the upcoming semester. If you cannot make it to the library tomorrow, no worries!

The library will also be open during the Organizational Fair on Thursday, August 13th, and during our Meet and Greet, which will take place on Saturday, August 15th.

Please note that only dues-paying members may borrow books, and as such, dues of $65.00 for the 2009-2010 school year will be collected at the library.

Our annual "Meet and Greet" for the 1L's will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2009, 3:00pm-6:00pm in the Florida Coastal Atrium

2L's and 3L's are strongly encouraged to attend this important event to mix and mingle with the incoming 1L's! We will have a short program with ice-breaker activities, and great food! What a great time to get to know future classmates and colleagues!

Mentor/Mentee Program
Finally, 2L's and 3L's interested in becoming mentors in this year's Mentor/Mentee program will have the opportunity to complete applications at the Meet & Greet on Saturday.
